December 2021

Greetings Chefs and Culinarians

The executive board and I would like to wish you all a happy holiday season. I personally have to say that I am glad that 2021 is almost over. We have had many trials and educational moments throughout the year. It has been nice to see many of you at our meetings this past year and get back to some sort of normalcy.

It was such a great meeting in November remembering and giving a tribute to Chef Linda Boggioni’s life with ACF Columbus Chapter and members. Also getting to chat with Chef Meegan Roberts while doing a desert demo!! We even had Chef Burrows from Hickory Hills Country Club share her experience in the culinary world.

We had a great first year with the new board and we are looking to add more board members that are interested in being involved in the backbone and growth of our chapter. Please feel free to reach out to me or any of the executive board members if you are interested in being on the board. We have a lot to do to assist in the growth of the culinary and hospitality industry in our area. We will be holding an all-board meeting in February so please keep that in mind, the date will be coming out on the first of January.

The PRESIDENTS GALA will be on January 16th please save the date. We will be sending out the nominees for CHEF OF THE YEAR this week and our chapter will be voting on which one we want to see achieve this prestigious award. The Gala will be held at Columbus State Community College in Mitchell Hall, we are excited to have our past Chef of the Year recipient prepare our dinner for that evening. I am excited to see what Chef Mojica will be preparing.  Tickets will be on sale soon so please keep an eye out.

Columbus will also be hosting the regional competition on April 2nd and 3rd. 2022 so we are excited to have national involvement with our chapter. There will also be several seminars being held that weekend. These will be CEH seminars so you can keep up with your educational credits. More to come with this event soon.

Again, I would like to wish you all a great holiday season and a prosperous 2022.
